Custom
garments are usually often preferred
over store bought for such an important occasion such as a wedding,
when the quality of styling and fit is of the upmost importance.
Patterns for all my fully custom garments are made to your own body
measurements. So there is no need for alterations once your gown
is complete.
A custom gown already includes all the design features you wanted,
such as, antique lace, detachable skirt layers, original hand painted
or embellished silks. The quality is ultimately higher and the
garment is entirely hand finished to the highest of standards.
Helpful
Hints on Scheduling and Costs
Your custom fit design pattern is styled from an
original block
( made from your own body measurements.) Fitting appointments will
be required to complete your block, styled pattern and beautiful
hand finished garment.
Once
we have discussed a few points over the telephone and an appointment
is made I will advise you of anything you may need to bring along
such as shoes or undergarments. (Bust support is often best built
into the gown, so my advice is not to purchase undergarments
before your first appointment).
At your consultation/first appointment we will discuss all
your design considerations. style and fit also possible colors
and fabrics, with style books, designs and samples available. I
will advise you of the costs, which can be clarified later once
all the materials have been chosen.
Special Requirements for Wedding
Gowns
All custom work is calculated on the materials costs plus labor
calculated on an hourly basis. Therefore it is difficult to give
a spot on estimate but every effort is taken to be as accurate
as possible.
Please
note: A consultation is important for an accurate estimate.
Prices given over the phone without consultation can only be approximate.
Custom work is tailored to the budget of each client without compromise
to quality.
A personal consultation is important for a good estimate. Most
work is calculated on an hourly basis.
Deposits
Should you decide you would like to go ahead,
I will require a first deposit to cover the first stage of work:-
sketching up designs, begin purchasing fabrics and cutting the basic
blockpattern (1/3 of entire labor plus 100% of materials)
and we can work out an appointment schedule.
The remaining costs would be spread throughout your fitting
appointments up to completion of your
garments and your final payment.
Any additional items ordered will each require a first deposit
and I will update your payment balance & schedule accordingly.
Please Note: Design changes may require extra fittings and
time, therefore extra costs.
